Hünxe is attractively situated in the lower Lippetal valley and to a large extent is part of the Hohe Mark nature park. Visitors looking for peace and relaxation can hike and cycle here through fields, large forest areas or along the Wesel-Datteln canal on numerous well signposted routes. The historic centre of the horse-drawn boat village of Krudenburg, Haus Schwarzenstein or Schloss Gartrop palace with its adjacent museum mill, the Hünxer Heimatmuseum of local history and the Otto-Pankok museum are also worth visiting.
