Hückelhoven, in the middle of the Rur lowlands, rightly describes itself as a town embedded in the natural landscape, and is the perfect place for a leisurely cycle tour. Culture also knows no borders: visit the mining museum, the “Schacht 3” mine and the basket-weavers’ museum. Climb up the Himmelstreppe stairs on the Millicher Halde former slag heap and enjoy the incredible views onto Hückelhoven and the surrounding area. Refresh yourself in the open-air pool with its 67 m water slide, or in the Kapbusch nature pool. The attractive shopping centre in the town and the free parking are also worth mentioning.
