RheinRadWeg
DüsseldorfThe Rhine Cycle Route (“RheinRadWeg”) must surely be one of the most popular cycle routes in Europe. One of its most attractive sections is in North Rhine-Westphalia. Here, the route runs along the river, through a particularly varied cultural and natural landscape, metropolitan areas that are well worth a visit and lively industrial centres such as the inland port city of Duisburg. The Lower Rhine takes you beyond the German-Dutch border, through a rural idyll with peaceful watermeadows and well-built cycle paths. There are also plenty of architectural monuments that are worth seeing along the Rhine.
