Boxteler Bahn Route

Wesel

The Boxtel railway route (“Boxteler Bahn Route”) leads along the historical railway link from Wesel in the Lower Rhine region to Boxtel in the Netherlands. Information panels along the entire route present the exciting history of this legendary railway route, which as part of the long-distance rail link between St. Petersburg and London was particularly popular at the start of the 20th century. The German Kaiser and the Russian Tsar also used this route. A cycle tour following the tracks of the Boxtel railway (“Auf den Spuren der Boxteler Bahn”) is therefore recommended not only for nature lovers, but also for visitors with an interest in cultural history, as well as railway fans.
