As well as the Haus Issum, the current headquarters of the district administration, the “His-Törchen” art and local history venue and the former Jewish synagogue, the Altbierdorf (“Old beer village”) has numerous other interesting buildings to offer. The Herrlichkeitsmühle mill, which was built in 1768 and which has been fully restored, is a good place to stop for coffee and cake after a visit. Numerous cycle and hiking paths criss-cross the wonderful scenery and attract sports enthusiasts.
