TALK with photographer Stanislav Krupař and curator Ulrike Bohnet M. A.28.05.2021 19:00 Uhr – 28.05.2021 20:00 Uhr
Czech documentary photographer Stanislav Krupař (*1972) has worked as a freelance photographer since 2002 and as a contract photographer for Newsweek since 2015. His photographs are regularly printed in international media, including Die Zeit, GEO and The New York Times. Numerous long-term documentaries repeatedly take him to Russia and Siberia. For his photo series Ghosts of Siberia, he photographed shamans in Tuva during their rituals and in everyday situations. His photographs, many of which can be seen in the exhibition, convey an idea of the work and relevance of the shamans in contemporary Tuvan society.
