CONCERT Ensemble CRUSH & BEUYS’ Earth Piano

A joint event with the municipality of Bedburg-Hau

with Pia Marei Hauser (flute), Andrei Simion (violoncello), Slavi Grigorov (accordion), Marin Petrov (piano)

The musical aspect is omnipresent in the work of Joseph Beuys. Compositions, sounds, noises, musical materials, scores and instruments characterise his work in numerous variations and are closely related to each other. As an artistic object and as a musical instrument, Beuys uses the piano several times. For the event FLUXUS: Internationale Festspiele Neuester Musik, Beuys had developed the idea of the Erdklavier. The term earth piano is taken up by the ensemble CRUSH. The members of the ensemble are particularly interested in unconventional programming and in breaking up the usual concert situation.

The project Ensemble CRUSH & BEUYS’ Erdklavier is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the State’s Regional Cultural Policy Support Programme.
