Römer-Lippe-Route

Oberhausen

The Roman-Lippe Route (“Römer-Lippe-Route”) begins at the Hermannsdenkmal monument in Detmold and follows the Lippe river from its source to its confluence with the Rhine near Wesel. The main route leads through the Teutoburger Wald forest, as well as the Münsterland and Sauerland regions, the Ruhr metropolitan region and the Lower Rhine. These are supplemented by 150 km of themed side routes, which can also be covered by bike.

The route is labelled with a logo showing a Roman helmet and the course of the river. This route offers an ideal combination of Roman culture and the water landscape.
