The “Fietsallee am Nordkanal” cycle tour follows the route of the northern canal planned by Napoleon Bonaparte, from Neuss am Rhein to Nederweert in the Netherlands (50 km on the German side, 50 km on the Dutch side). The route follows a blue-green strip, which is created using ground markings, posts along the edge of the route and panels on street lights. Along the way, four metre-high marking rods indicate the planned course of the canal, while information panels present interesting information about all aspects of the canal and the surrounding area.
